AFTER HOURS Movie Podcast
So we love making movies, but we also love watching them. Introducing our podcast; After Hours each episode we watch then review a film selected by one AV Media member. We talk about what we like, what we didn't like, and everything else filmmaking related. That being said, we can't promise we won't go off on random tangents.
Episode 3 - Videodrome
After watching the 1983 sci-fi horror film, Videodrome by David Cronenberg. We didn't know what to think at first. Our theme was strange and bizarre 80's movies and this was a weird one.
Episode 4 - Pig
Nicholas Cage was our theme this week and we chose...Pig! A story about a truffle hunter and his search for his stolen pig. We unanimously agreed this was a great movie, and even left one member rethinking their opinion of Nicolas Cage.
Episode 5 - Casablanca
This Hollywood classic is a must watch for any movie lovers, despite being an 80-year old film. We discuss famous quotes, memorable characters, and even learn an interesting facts about the actors who played Nazis.
Episode 6 - CODA
CODA, short for child of deaf adults, is an academy award-winning coming-of-age film with 40% of it conducted in ASL. We share our favourite moments from this film we all enjoyed.
Episode 7 - Fantastic Mr. Fox
Wes Anderson's animated film had us fascinated about stop-motion, a style of filmmaking less familiar to us, and somehow led us on a tangent about crows.
Episode 8 - Mandy
What a crazy ride! This week the crew watched an insane movie per Brammon's request. They agreed that Mandy is one of the wildest movies any of them have seen. We have our first special guest, Amber Bell!
Episode 9 - The Boy and The Heron
This episode we took a trip to the movie theatre! This was Brammon's first Studio Ghibli movie. We explore the different themes of this animated film both adults and children can appreciate.
Episode 10 - Chungking Express
We had a poll and you guys voted for Chungking Express, a 1994 Hong-Kong romantic crime film. We talk about this interesting love story and fascinating cinematography.
Episode 11 - Birdman
This film had us blown away by the camera work and cinematography. This Academy Award winning film was a highly rated amongst the AV Media crew.
